Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Arrive at Kigali International Airport, where your guide will welcome you to Rwanda. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a brief Kigali city tour, visiting key attractions such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, Inema Arts Centre, and Kimironko Market, a lively showcase of local crafts and produce.
After lunch, embark on a scenic 2.5-hour drive north to Volcanoes National Park. The journey winds through Rwanda’s rolling hills and lush green countryside, offering spectacular views of the Virunga volcanoes rising in the distance.
Arrive in Musanze in the late afternoon and check into your lodge, where you’ll relax as you prepare for the next day’s trekking adventure.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Today is the highlight of your journey—mountain gorilla trekking! After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters in Kinigi for a briefing by park rangers. You’ll learn about the rules of gorilla trekking, conservation efforts, and what to expect during the trek.
You’ll then be assigned to one of the habituated gorilla families and set out into the forest with your ranger guides. Trekking can take anywhere between 2 and 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements and terrain. The moment you find them is nothing short of magical—watching them play, feed, and interact in their natural habitat is one of the most profound wildlife experiences on Earth.
Spend a full hour observing these gentle giants before making your way back to the trailhead. Return to your lodge for a warm meal and relaxation. In the afternoon, you can visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village (Gorilla Guardians Village) to experience Rwanda’s rich traditions through dance, music, and local storytelling.

Day 3: Volcanoes – Return to Kigali & Departure
